This is loaded topic for me. Have you ever loved someone only to have the relationship go sour and then when ever you meet someone with their name you are forced to relive the entire relationship right through the bitter end. That is my relationship with kiss.
Don't get me wrong. I love KISS. I wanted the best and for a long time I got it. I have seen them several times, and I've gone in makeup. Not just any makeup mind you. I went as Eric Carr, the fox. I am a fan through and through. I can't even tell you how much I have spent on this band. I have every one of the Mcfarlene action figures, individually and in box sets. I have a sheet of uncut trading cards from the seventies. I have the entire Pyco Circus comic book series. I have T-shirt, Posters, Books, Movies and an endless array of KISS crap but this is not the issue. I own close to every KISS CD ever released including Tributes, solo albums, and other stuff i couldn't Begin to name. After buying these Cd's i bought double platinum (a greatest hits) then i bought smashes, thrashes and hits, (another greatest hits) then I saw the released an album called....ready... GREATEST HITS!! But wait, there's more. I bought Alive, Alive II, and Alive III. Alive 4 was released online and didn't move so the released another Alive 4 this time with a symphony. Alive III has little to none of the spirit of the first 2 because it was a different band. HERE IS WHERE THEY OWE ME MONEY. KISS released an album called you wanted the best you got the best! Which was nothing more than a best of the first two alive's with an interview with Jay Leno for good measure. I feel that after supporting a band through several lineup changes...ringers in makeup...endless licenced crap...Countless sub par albums and KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park! they could at least not shovel the same repackaged crap on their loyal army.
You Wanted The Best, You Got The Best was the day KISS stopped being one of favorite bands and became one the many corporations I just can't trust, and I want my money back!
