Van Halen. I'm exited to hear that you're bringing Dave back in the fold. I'm sure Dave is too. It's cool that you've been able to give us new Dave on The best of vol.1 It was also cool to get new Sammy on the Best of Both Worlds. I have to say that I loved the stuff with Cherone though I understand Van Halen will always be defined by it's two eras. You proved that when you left Gary off your latest greatest hits.(which is another post of it's own...I'm a huge EXTREME fan) My concern however is this. Where's Mikey?
You can't fire him. Your not coming across good in this one. We all know you're not good with singers but Mike Anthony? He tours with Sammy you cut him loose. I saw the pound for pound tour in Mansfield Massachusetts. Sam had Mike and Gary out jamming with him while sharing a bill with Dave and who wasn't there? You're looking like a snotty little kid this time.
And what about the Rock and Roll hall of fame. I love the idea of Sam and Dave sharing the stage. I really hope Dave goes for it since Sammy already said he was open to it. But who is playing the bass? Are you going to do the right thing and let the only bass player to ever hold down the bottom end in that band or let the kid do it.
Wolfie huh? A15 year old kid playing with a bunch of Dinosaurs? What are you the allman bros? I don't care how good the kid is. You also commented in Rolling Stone That if Dave doesn't do it you would get someone else. You said Dave isn't the only one who can sing. Did you learn nothing from Van Halen III. Non of us want to see Eddie in a cheap ripoff of Van Halen.
The Michael Anthony/Wolfie issue is a major concern. Eddie and Alex have more at stake then just the future of the band. You also have it's past. The legacy could be tarnished. And the brothers loose their ground in Van Halen history. Dave's Egocentric, Sammy wants to be Solo, Gary wasn't working out, Mike is traitor. It sounds like wolf to me.
